| One of The Funniest Stories in
Indonesia Art History |
| |
|
One of the funniest stories in Indonesia Art History, it happened in
1945, on the occasion of the first drawing session in Yogyakarta.
Affandi, Henoha, and Suyana Kerton had asked a local 'woman'
(prostitute) to pose for them during a drawing session. She accepted
if she was paid for it. But when the artist asked her to take off
her clothes, she didn't feel comfortable. Then she proposed 'I will
take off my clothes if you all do the same thing'. They all
undressed and proceeded to scketch in the nude. This one is very
first nude live drawing classes in Indonesia was held. |
